Techie at Work
As requested by YS, I'm gonna blog at this time of 1.45am! Well, yesterday (Saturday), started out as a normal enough day. Feeling only a little body ache from the fever the day before, I felt well enough to plan for an outing to Sim Lim Square to get a new hard disk for my computer since the current one has been making lots of odd noises and hanging up these few days.
So after I reached Bugis and took a little time to visit the library, I reach Sim Lim Square and picked up a price list. It's shocking that a hard disk is so cheap nowadays! Less than $80 dollars for a 160GB harddisk and here I am using my 80GB harddisk from years ago! Well, I picked up a 160GB 2.5 (why 2.5 for a desktop? I dunno, should have brought a 3.5) harddisk and a dvdrom (mine is kinda faulty) for just 103 dollars! And that was all my techie work for yesterday. xD
After that I went walking around Orchard shopping for clothes and got a call from MX while having dinner. It seems like her sister stood her up when she were supposed to meet her to go watch shopping. So it was in a bad mood that MX stomped to the McD that I was eating at and threw her handphone near my tray, nearly hitting my burger. xD
Not willing to provoke the erupting volcano and share the fate of Pompeii, I kept mostly silent while she ranted and swore. After 15 minutes and a call to her sister, she was pacified and her thoughts turn to the Tag Heuer watch she has her eye on. Well, that was when I was recruited into her "watchhunt". xD
Well, that part of the day went rather well and MX got her Tag Heuer watch in the end. After that, I volunteered to accompany her back to her company's shop at Cathay where she has to close the gate and because we had some time, we went to the basement and drink tea while chatting.
The conversations was mostly about her job as the retail manager, her many trips to parts of Asia for work and the people she met during those trips. It seems like hard work and there are alot of responsibilities that she has to take up. But her horizon has opened out and the people she met has been good to her, so I think she's probably satisfied about her current job situation.
We also talked about our ex-classmates and my new job. Well, our opinions may differ in the aspect about our ex-classmates but I'm sure she wouldn't hang out with Johnny so much if he wasn't good enough of a friend. xD
There was also some dialogue about her current love life but those aren't something I should post on a blog. xD
So when the time reached for her to close the shutters, I bid goodbye and left for home. It's been an enlightening talk with a ex-classmate and friend that I've known for nine years. You're still not that old, MX! Go out and see the world! xD
